Physical Education
Information to support Physical Education and Emotional Wellbeing
Even though we're all stuck inside as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, there's no reason we should let COVID-19 stop us keeping fit and healthy. We need to make sure that the children can burn off energy and stay active as it is crucial for their well-being. Physical activity and relaxation techniques can be valuable tools to help you and your family remain calm and continue to protect your health during this time.
When you're going through a difficult time, it can be hard to think about taking exercise - especially if you’re stuck indoors for most of the day. But for adults and children alike, keeping fit and working out can do wonders for both our physical and mental health.
But with play centres closed and parks out of bounds, how can we keep our kids, from toddlers to teenagers, active during isolation?
Below is a list of ideas and links that support your child's physical development and emotional well-being.
*Hertfordshire School Games Organisers and Herts Sport Partnership to put together a database of resources which can be accessed:

The 2.6 Challenge
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in fundraising income. In response, the organisers of the biggest mass-participation sports events across the country have come together to create a new campaign to raise vital funds to help to save the UK’s charities – The 2.6 challenge
Sunday 26th April was due to the be London Marathon, now instead people are encouraged to do any fun activity of their choice based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 eg Run 2.6 miles, skip 26 times, climb the stairs 26 times etc. – the choice is yours! And donate or fundraise for an important cause.
I hope you as individuals and Hertfordshire schools will join the nation in The 2.6 Challenge to support local charity Herts Disability Sports Foundation or a charity of your choice and help to save the UK’s charities.
