Safeguarding
What is safeguarding?
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as protecting children from maltreatment; preventing impairment of children’s health or development; ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and any staff member or visitor should raise any concerns with the DSL or in her absence the DDSL’s.
We use CPOMS (Child Protection Online Management System to log concerns, discussions and decisions made. All staff should log their concerns on CPOMS but must also ensure that they have spoken to the DSL.
Staff, Governors and Volunteers at the School
Before someone comes to work or volunteers at our school, we have in place safe recruitment processes. These include enhanced DBS checks and references. Volunteers are also required to attend a safeguarding training session.
The latest safeguarding update is published in the Newsletter each week.
